Indoor Season - October - April

The indoor venue is only available for use on a Wednesday evening from 7pm till 9 pm and on a Sunday morning from 11am till 1pm.

Club shoots are on a Wednesday evening also from 7pm however some members come along earlier. Shooting ends at dusk. On a Sunday morning, club hours are from 11am till 1 pm.

 

Our outdoor venue is available to use all year round, 7 days a week, from dawn to dusk, abiding by Archery GB Rules of Shooting (minimum two persons on field and a named field captain to take responsibility for shooting safety).

Unless otherwise advised, Sundays are designated as a Club Target Day. Wednesday evenings are practice sessions.  ​​

Club Target Days​

Ordinarily, archers wanting to achieve their Bowman classification would have to obtain their scores shot at competitive events. However, under the Rules of Shooting, it is also possible to meet this criteria at a club target day.

​

During both the indoor and outdoor season, we aim to run club target day every Sunday. This is a more formal and structured shoot with members shooting a nominated round and recording their scores that can then be submitted for Bowman classification purposes. See our Classifications page for information on classifications.

Not only does this allows members who are wanting to achieve their Bowman classification but it also helps members who want to enter competitions to get a feel for how competitions are run. 

​

Shooting starts promptly at 11am and members are requested to arrive at least 40 minutes before shooting starts to help set up. Members do not have to take part in the target day itself but the discipline of the shoot cannot be disrupted once it has started.

​​We also host and run other shooting events as well as visits to other clubs.
